AgreeYa Achieves CMMI Assessment Within Two Years Of Operations

PLANS LAUNCH OF CMMI-BASED QUALITY CONSULTING PRACTICE

Folsom – July 28, 2006: AgreeYa Solutions, a California-based leading Business and Technology Solutions provider with its Global Delivery Center based out of Noida, India, today announced that it has been successfully assessed at SEI-CMMI. The Carnegie Mellon University Software Engineering Institute’s (SEI) Maturity Level 5 signifies the highest process maturity of an organization, based on the Capability Maturity Model Integration (SEI CMMI) framework.

Ajay Kaul, Managing Partner of AgreeYa Solutions said, “With this achievement, AgreeYa has become one of the very few mid-market software services firms globally to achieve CMMI. By achieving this level of maturity in our development and delivery processes, AgreeYa has established itself as a strong player in the Product Development, Systems Integration, and Outsourcing marketplace.”

Adoption of the CMMI framework demonstrates AgreeYa’s strong commitment to maintain the highest quality standards and successfully deliver measurable business benefits to its clients. “AgreeYa’s Quality journey has been a manifestation of corporate vision, commitment, and customer focus. CMMI marks an important milestone in this journey,” said Arun Sinha, Managing Director, AgreeYa India.

“AgreeYa’s CMMI assessment comes just seven months after its ISO 9001:2000 certification, and within two years of starting operations at the Noida GDC. Further, we decided to aim for the Level 5 assessment at the first instance, without opting for the comparatively easier Level 3 or Level 4 assessment first. Our next step is to further leverage our processes for Total Quality Management” said Teenu Puri, Quality Head, AgreeYa Solutions, who spearheaded the CMMI initiative in the company.

The CMMI assessment for AgreeYa was conducted by Rakesh Soni, an SEI-authorized SCAMPI Lead Appraiser, and Executive Vice President, Tech Mahindra Ltd. DQS India was involved as an associate during AgreeYa’s CMMI assessment activities. ”AgreeYa’s process orientation and level of clarity of process improvement principles is of very high order,” says Rajendra Khare, Managing Director, DQS India.

In addition to using strong quality practices to help deliver solutions to its clients, AgreeYa plans to leverage its quality expertise to develop a new CMMI-based Quality consulting practice focused on helping other organizations achieve high levels of process maturity. “This service will be offered to our clients globally and will encompass training, consulting, and assessments,” Kaul said.
